II. Photochromic Bifocal Lens:
Light adaptive lenses automatically darken on exposure to UV light but whilst inside or at night time remain clear. Available in lightweight plastic the most modern of these lenses, Aogang absorbs harmful rays of both UVA and UVB light, giving your eyes maximum protection.
The latest plastic transition lens is the fastest reacting ever, goes the darkest when reacted and is available in a choice of thinner materials. This material can be used for Single Vision, Bifocal and Varifocal lenses and is available in brown and grey colours.
Transition lens are an enhanced version of the lens and are the darkest everyday which will react even when you are in a car, giving you even more flexibility from your lenses.
Generally, light adaptive lenses darken substantially in response to UV light within one minute. It will then continue to slightly darken over the following 15 minutes. When going inside, therefore losing the sunlight, the lenses will start to clear within 2 minutes and continue to clear over the following 15 minutes.
| A bifocal lens is created with two different areas of vision correction, which are divided by a distinct line that sits horizontally across the lens. The top portion of the lens is used for distance, while the bottom portion of the lens is used for closer vision. Our regular bifocals are flat-top 28. This means that the reading portion of the lens is 28-millimeters wide and shaped like a sideways “D.”
The lower half of a bifocal lens contains the near segment for reading and other close-up tasks. The rest of the lens is usually a distance correction, but sometimes has no correction at all in it, if you have good distance vision. | |
1. Our Flat Top 28 Bifocal Photochromic lenses are manufactured using the same high quality NK55 material(imported from Japan) as our standard lenses, with ultraviolet filter and scratch resistant coating. Flat Top 28 Bifocals provide you with clear, sharp distance and reading vision.
2. FT-28 Photochromic Lenses contain light-sensitive molecules that darken and lighten according to the intensity of ultraviolet light. Recent advances in Photochromic technology ensure that they perform consistently across a wide range of temperatures and climates.
3. The greater the intensity of the UV rays, the darker the lens becomes. The moment the UV rays are no longer present, the lens begins to fade back to almost clear. Photochromic Lenses do not change while driving in a car. All Photochromic lenses come with 100% UV protection.
